I sometimes sell things on Ebay, such as movies that I didn't like or video games that I either hated, or have beaten already and don't really want to play anymore. And yes, I'm one of those horrible and fraudulent sellers that likes to wait until the buyer leaves positive feedback first before that buyer leaves feedback (though if there are any problems, I'm perfectly willing to work things out with the buyer if they come to me with them, and I always accurately describe the shit I'm selling). I haven't had any buyer complain to me personally about my feedback-last policy, but I sometimes browse the Answer Center and Discussion Boards in the feedback section for both, and there's always some buyer who wants to whine, bitch, and moan about all those horrible sellers that wait to leave feedback until the buyer does so they can retaliate against any negative or neutral feedback left, and it's always amusing seeing these whiny little bitches get ripped to shit, especially in the Answer Center. Such buyers like to use terms such as "holding your feedback hostage", so perhaps this picture accurately depicts what they mean by that phrase.

The picture above was handdrawn and then colored using Microsoft Paint after I scanned it into the computer, since I had decided that in order to properly convey the meaning, it would be better if the feedback was green.

Update March 21, 2008: Well, ebay has decided in their infinite wisdom that they will no longer allow sellers to leave negative or neutral to buyers for any reason whatsoever as of May 2008. I'm not sure why they even bother keeping buyer feedback at that point so I guess this picture is kind of obsolete now. I guess you can still consider it a relic from way back when it actually made sense for sellers to want to wait and make sure their buyers were happy with the item before leaving feedback. Of course, another auction site might rise up in power somewhere down the line that has a similar buyer/seller feedback like the one Ebay started out with, in which case this picture will once more be relevant.
